Families new to LAFC So Cal Youth will need to create an account first, add their child as a participant, and enroll in Tryouts. Families new to the club should have a current photo (headshot) of their child to upload during this process.

LAFC So Cal Youth, based in the San Fernando Valley, fields teams in multiple leagues (ECNL, ECNL Regional League, Pre ECNL, and SOCAL).

Our tryouts align with league-issued dates, which occur during the following periods. Specific tryout dates and details are published closer to the dates.

"Rising" = next year's age group classification

• Week of December 7, 2026: Rising Under-8 and Under-9 SOCAL teams
  • Rising U9: 8/1/18-7/31/19
  • Rising U8: 8/1/19-7/31/20

• Week of March 1, 2027: Under-10-Under-14 SOCAL, Under-11-Under-12 Pre ECNL, and Under-13 ECNL and ECNL RL teams
  • Rising U13: 8/1/14-7/31/15
  • Rising U12: 8/1/15-7/31/16
  • Rising U11: 8/1/16-7/31/17
  • Rising U10: 8/1/17-7/31/18

• Week of April 26: Under-14-Under-19 ECNL and ECNL RL, and Under-15-Under-19 SOCAL teams
  • Rising U19: 8/1/08-7/31/10
  • Rising U17: 8/1/10-7/31/11
  • Rising U16: 8/1/11-7/31/12
  • Rising U15: 8/1/12-7/31/13
  • Rising U14: 8/1/13-7/31/14

While our teams are formed for the current year, some teams with room to add players may add them during the seasonal year.

Families interested in pursuing an opportunity now (before the tryout window) should complete the following steps:

1) enroll online in tryouts (details at top of page)

2) after completing the online enrollment, contact your appropriate age group director with the following information:

• Your child's name
• Their date of birth
• Their current or most recent soccer program (include club, team level and league when possible)
• Any additional details about your child

3) the age group director when possible will contact you with schedule details for an assessment, for you and your child to check out the club's environment to ensure it's the right fit, and for the club coaches to assess your child for potential placement. Following that session, your child may be invited to continue training for additional assessment, either with the same coach or with another coach in the club, or invited to join a team, or be directed to return during the tryout window.
