West Coast Futbol Classic 2011 - Finalist
RSC Blue GU15 ended the summer tournament season by bringing home finalist medals from the prestigious West Coast Futbol Classic. In bracket play, the team went undefeated against West Coast United Blue (1 - 0), Arsenal FC (LB) (3 - 2), and DMCV Sharks (2 -0). In the semi-finals, RSC took the pitch against Galaxy Alliance SC, and once again posted a shut out win, with a score of 3 - 0. In the Championship game, RSC came up against a tough and skilled San Diego Surf Premier team. The well played game ended with Surf winning 1 - 0. Another awesome soccer weekend came to a close, and the girls of RSC GU15 Blue are ready for the 2011 season to begin!
State Cup/President’s Division 2011 - Quarter Finalist
Another successful cup run for the girls of RSC Blue! The team advanced out of pool play in 1st place with 3 wins, including 12 goals for and only 1 goal against. They came back the next weekend to win both their Round of 32 and Sweet 16 games, qualifying the team for a spot in the Quarter Finals. They faced a strong San Diego United FC team, and the game remained tied after the overtime periods. Unfortunately, RSC Blue’s State Cup run ended on PK’s. It was a tough way to end State Cup, but the girls played 6 awesome games over two consecutive weekends.
League Cup 2010 - Sweet 16
RSC Blue GU14 wrapped up the Coast Soccer League 2010 season with a very successful run at League Cup. Out of about 120 teams that had entered the League Cup tournament, RSC Blue made it to the top 16! In pool play, the team beat the Claremont Stars 4 - 0 and tied the Silver Elite North Downey FC team 0 - 0. The tie breaker went to Downey and RSC Blue advanced to the Round of 32 on a wildcard, where the team had to face a Gold team, the So Cal Blues/Kale. Each and every player on RSC Blue played an amazing game and the team won 3 - 1, to advance to the Sweet 16. A loss to the tough Silver Elite South LH Eclipse team, ended the season. RSC Blue is proud of their 2010 season.
Copa Real Tournament 2010 - Finalist
RSC GU14 Blue made it to the Finals of this year’s Copa Real Tournament. Goal Keeper Olivia held all opponents scoreless. Victories of 2-0 against Madrid Premiere and 1-0 against Aresenal-Tate, brought the team to the Semis against Santa Barbara SC, where the team posted another shut out win. In the Finals, they faced the gold level Slammers team. The game ended scoreless after regulation play and the overtime period. The game was decided by PK’s, with Slammers winning 7-6. It was a great weekend of soccer for the girls of RSC GU14 Blue!!
