RSC's Victor Chavez Selected to U17 MNT... Goes to Residency in August...
Seen down at the Brazilian consulate this morning, applying for a visa, is RSC’s Victor Chavez, a forward on Julio Castillo’s U16 Academy team. Victor is a late addition to Wilmer Cabrera’s U17 MNT, having earned a spot by playing good soccer all year and showing well at a series of identification camps held by US Soccer. Victor will move to Bradenton, Fl in August to live and train with the U17 team. Started in 1999, the U.S. Soccer Under-17 Residency Program has become a symbol of U.S. Soccer’s dedication to increasing the development opportunities for players and the success of the Youth National Teams.
Although we are sad to see Victor leave the club, we are proud that he has been chosen to play at the highest level in this country. We know that he will represent Real So Cal in the finest manner possible.
Victor will train with the RSC U16’s next week before joining up with the USA squad in Brasil.
